GREEN BALL
BEST TIME TO TRAVEL:
ALL YEAR ROUND BUT GET THERE EARLY
Green Ball, on Bali’s exposed south coast, is usually too big to surf. It has undergone massive changes since its early days as a remote secret spot, with a highway to the huge Bali Cliff hotel.
Hundreds of steps lead down the steep cliff to a thick right reef break, good up to 8 feet, but often too wild and unpredictable. The waves here are very powerful, facing directly into the open ocean.
So for experienced surfers only.
Arrive early before any wind. Be careful of the currents, especially as the tide sucks out on full moons.
